Roman schools
Here are some of the wax tablets they used to write on.
As a kingdom boys were taught history, training, and law by their father, but girls were taught sewing, spinning, and weaving by their mother. Rome as a republic was different. At age 6 or 7 kids went to school and learned reading, writing, counting, and how to effectively speak. Then at age 12 or 13 boys went to grammar school, and at age 16 they were sent to public speaking school. School was not free so poorer kids could not attend.
