What Romans Ate
This is a plate that the Romans used.
Some Romans had a larger variety of food than others. Lower class meals were usually porridge, vegetables, dry bread, cheeses, and if they were lucky sometimes meat. Lower class Romans had to use coins to get food. Upper class meals were usually fruits, vegetables, meat, bread and honey. Upper class Romans ate with their fingers, were given warm towels, and had slaves to cook and clean. Workers were given bread, and boys were given pancakes on their way to school.
